Polly Pocket Commercial

Blast from the Past!
Here's a scene of rough animation I did for a ‘Polly Pocket’ commercial back in the day at Duck studios.

A little bit of Michigan trivia!

In the early 90's I was working at an animation studio Rocket Productions and we were commissioned by Alan and Ray Whitfield Ford to redo their classic "Duke & Dawg" animated commercial. (Most Detroiters my age know that indelible song that Duke sings!)

Apparently the original animation was damaged beyond repair so they wanted to redo the whole spot with a new beginning of Duke talking and some antics by Dawg. They were emphatic about making the revised commercial look like the original. I animated and cleaned up the whole spot myself. It was done the old fashion way by using paper, cells, ink and paint. Subtle embellishments were made within the animation by tightening up the lip sync, having Duke's fingers playing the banjo and adding more inbetweens.

I provided animation for the opening title sequence of 'The Punisher' movie. Teaming up up again with Walter Santucci as the Evil Cat Land crew along with Kaleidoscope Films Group, which provided overall art direction, texturing & compositing.



I teamed up with Walter Santucci & April (Seo Jin) Lee to provide animation for a theatrical commercial for the 2008 season of ABC's series LOST. The concept was to recreate the old movie theater intermission animation. Animation done in Flash.



2004 Telly Award winner commercial that I co-directed with Walter Santucci as the Evil Cat Land crew.



I teamed up again with Walter Santucci as the Evil Cat Land crew along with Academy award winning director Curtis Hanson (L.A. Confidential, 8 Mile, The Hand That Rocks the Cradle) of Deuce Three Productions and Fox 2000 to Co-direct & provide animation for the open title sequence of 'In Her Shoes' movie. Starring Cameron Diaz, Toni Collette, Shirley MacLaine and Mark Feuerstein.

These titles were created for the film a year before its release and then cut from the final picture when the producers decided to make the film seem more serious.


Here's a flash animation for a Sonic the Hedgehog promo. I provided flash character animation of Knuckles and the Robot.
